St. Ernest
Died: 1148
There is very little known about St. Ernest; I hope this will help. Ernest was the Abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of Zwiefalten in Germany. He went on the Crusades, preached in Arabia and Persia, and was captured by the Moors. He was tortured to death in Mecca. His feast day is November 7th.

One of my distant relatives was awarded the Siberne Medaille de St Ernest in 1919 having served in World War one in Europe. I can find no record of this award. Can anyone help.
St Ernest, Pray for all Christians, especially those who live in largely Muslim countries. We need your protection from all kinds of subtle persecutions. Amen.
I reckon that there needs to be more information about why this Saint is a Saint and what he is the patron Saint of.
