WASHINGTON, DC (Catholic Online) - Just a week ago, I reported a call from an Obama supporter received by a Catholic in Pennsylvania. The caller, identifying herself as Catholic, insisted Obama was not pro-abortion and Planned Parenthood did not encourage abortions.

Joy Allen, co-chair of the pro-life committee of her parish, Saints John and Paul in Franklin Park, PA, received another call yesterday. The first Obama caller had asked for her daughter; the second asked for her son -- both are registered Republicans. The call came from 215-796-4259 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

After telling the caller her son was not at home, the caller said she was from the Obama campaign and wanted to know how he would be voting.

Joy reported to me:

"Well, I could not believe that I had received another call from the Obama campaign looking for another of my college aged children in less than a week. I informed the caller that my son was a practicing Catholic and would not be supporting a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage candidate who did not respect the Catholic faith in his HHS mandate that would force all Catholics to pay for birth control, sterilization, and the abortion pill."

At that point, the Obama supporter started reading from the same script that Joy had heard from the first call.

"Well, I am a practicing Catholic, and I have no problem supporting Obama. How can you support a Mormon who does not believe in Jesus Christ...."

Joy interrupted her and said:

"I know your script, next you are going to tell me that I should support the "Nuns on the Bus" and tell me that Planned Parenthood is really providing healthcare for children and pregnant women and not aborting innocent children."

Joy then asked the caller her name. She would only give her first name, Judy. Joy told Judy "that she had heard from their campaign last week when a caller wanted to speak to her college aged daughter. I asked her why they were targeting Catholic young adults." Judy then said to me, "You told me you were Catholic."

When Joy tried to engage in conversation about the five non-negotiables and the USCCB on "Faithful Citizenship", Judy hung up.

These Obama "push calls" not only tell the big lie about Obama but also play the "Mormon card," offering more evidence of Obama's disrespect for people of faith.

It was true, that in the past, most Catholics voted Democrat. But that was in a different era. A different time. The Democratic Party is Not the same! And Catholics must be aware of it. Vance is correct in calling the New Democratic Party A Culture of Death and Deceit.

True Catholics stand for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. True Catholics abhor the killing of innocents, aka, the Culture of Death. True Catholics, watched the P. Debates and saw the Father of Lies twist another man's words around to suit his own self-made agenda. IF a Catholic did not see that, then to me, that person has sadly chosen to stray from the Lamb.

A True Catholic will follow the course of the Lamb. It is an easy Catholic vote. Romney is Mormon. So what. All of us in the USA, so far, are allowed Religious Freedom. Romney will see to that. Romney follows the Lamb more than Obama. Romney's words echo the Lamb. Obama's do not. To some, this may be all that is needed to vote a Clear Catholic Conscience. Blessings...

Isnt it just pathetic that the Obama NUTCASES have absolutely no SHAME?! Its not surprising the LIAR in Chief has LIES all around him. Sickening.

It is very sad that a once great party has been taken over by The Evil One and his emissaries. I think the "Catholic" Democrats need to open their eyes and realize that the Democratic Party is no longer the party it used to be. I think it should be re-named the New Democratic Party to avoid confusion with the old one that followed God's commandments and cared for the poor. But of course, dishonesty is one of The Evil One's favorite tactics.

The New Democratic Party is anti-God and had the mention of God removed from its platform completely until it was "voted" back in by a "2/3 majority".
The New Democratic Party supports murder in the form of abortion, at any time for any reason, and even supports leaving "unwanted" babies born alive from failed abortions to die.
The New Democratic Party wants to force everyone to pay for contraceptives, which of course lead to adultery (unfaithful spouses), fornication, and when they fail: 40%-50% out-of-wedlock birthrate, and thousands of babies being aborted each year. Abortions should be paid for by the taxpayer as well, and adoptions are discouraged by Planned Parenthood.
The New Democratic Party supports same-sex marriage, a lifestyle which has not only been condemned by the Bible many times, but is also, from a secular viewpoint, a lifestyle which leads to high rates of depression, STDs, certain cancers, and shorter life expectancies.
The New Democratic Party supports human cloning and embryonic stem-cell research.
The New Democratic Party believes that marriage is just a piece of paper--not a commitment to each other to stay faithful and be a family and definitely not a covenant with God--just a piece of paper and that is it.
The New Democratic Party believes in Big Government where they decide on where you go to school, what is taught in schools (even if it's against someone's belief system) or who gets to see a doctor and when they qualify to see a doctor.
The New Democratic Party creates programs for the poor that create a cycle of government dependency, whether it be supporting people who play video games all day while their kids are at school, taking away childcare benefits of hardworking poor people with jobs so they lose their childcare and then lose their jobs and have to re-apply for childcare and then look for a new job, or taking away medical benefits and food stamps from the working poor after a certain amount of time has passed, even though their income is still below poverty level. (Yes, this is happening, in California.)

Do NOT be fooled by the name! The New Democratic Party of today is not the same as the Democratic Party that our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents belonged to 50-100 years ago.

The Party of Death and Deceit is doing what it does best, LIE. If the Party of Death and Deceit told the straight truth about who and what they are, no one but psychotic would vote for them. You would have to be a psychotic because who would vote for a dictator who would put hand cuffs and leg shackles on you. BUT the Party of Death and Deceit has a Mass Media Complex working 24/7 as a propaganda tool to elect Dems and defeat the GOP. It is powerful and persuasive for many.

Church Doctrine is not established based upon opinion polls.

And you should note that there is a huge difference between acknowledging the Church's teachings and failing to live up to them (that's called being a sinner) and arguing that the Church's teachings are wrong and need to be changed in order to be consistent with your lifestyle (that's called being a dissenter or heretic).

Odifasa, perhaps you are under the impression that the Catholic Church is a democracy. The percentage of those who call themselves "Catholic" and disagree with a Church teaching is meaningless, because the Church teaches the truth, whether its people believe it or not. Those who believe the secular culture instead of the teachings of Christ's Church take their chances on what will happen after they leave this life.

Osifaca : your points are well taken,but it is not a matter of what Catholics think or how they act as individuals,even the way they choose to vote,it is a matter of being obedient to God. The Church can teach the way of salvation,but when we act to self justify all our personal beliefs in defiance of all that the Chuch teaches,we are on the wide road that leads to destruction. Obedience to God is unpopular and for this reason many people don't,or can't know,their faith,even when they sit in a pew every Sunday as seemingly devout Catholics. They certainly will remain devout to their Democratic Party affiliations,if they were brought up to be Catholic and Democrat,no matter what. This explains the Bidens and Pelosi,Sibelus type politicians,as well as any Catholic person,that would re-invent Catholic positions to suit the political agenda of the Democratic Party,or their own personal self interests.

Denying they are pro-abortion seems to be a common ploy among Democrats. When Howard Dean was DNC chairman, he made the claim that Democrats opposed abortion. Anyone who is even paying half way attention to what politicians say and do, know that this is an out and out lie. Democrats not only suppoert abortion, they want taxpayers to pay for them. As I've said many time before, liberals and Democrats could not tell the truth if their lives depended upon it. Truth just is not compatible with liberalism.
