LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - With an 8-7 score in the 10th inning, the Chicago Cubs have won the World Series following a long series of games where they were down 3-1 against the Cleveland Indians. Many describe the seventh game as "epic."
The Chicago Cubs led for much of the game, but the Indians managed to tie the game in the eighth inning. Chicago scored two runs in the 10th, and Cleveland just one in reply.
The game lasted four and a half hours and suffered a 17 minute rain delay.
The win is the first for the Chicago Cubs in 108 years, and allegedly breaks a curse. The curse was originally imposed in 1945 by a disgruntled fan who allegedly wanted to bring his goat with him into the park. Despite the trivial nature of the offense, the Cubs never won a World Series until now.
Fans debate the details of the curse, or whether it is real or not, but it's difficult to dispute the claim that it has been broken.
