Egypt has been in deep shock after the death of the 34-year-old activist, especially after images of her agonizing last moments in the arms of a stranger went viral.
Immediately the Egyptian regime was denounced.
"Arab regimes must be exterminated. They base their power on the use of force and inhuman practices. They are ready to walk over corpses to remain in power. All those who argue in favor of freedom are considered their enemy so the death of the activist is not surprising as she showed her strong disapproval to dictatorship," said one anonymous Cairo woman.
Human Rights Watch and other international organizations that focus on human rights abuses have constantly denouncing the continued "excessive use of force by police in Egypt against peaceful demonstrations."

This is not the first time that Egyptian authorities have taken a hard stance against demonstrators. During the height of the Arab revolt in Egypt, plainclothes thugs were hired to attack demonstrators. Also, when the Muslim Brotherhood took charge in 2013, they also attacked demonstrators who were upset about the radical turn towards Islam that the country was taken.
This led to the ousting of Mohamed Morsi by leader of the Egyptian army Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, and the current regime taking over.
It is unclear what future Egypt has, especially if they can't organize an effective and non-repressive government. Human rights activists will continue to fight these oppressive regimes, as long as they rise up in Egypt, until a true and encompassing democracy can be formed.
