The book of Proverbs is full of insight and wisdom.

"I love those who love me; whoever looks for me can find me." -Proverbs 8:17 Wisdom, unlike what most people think, is not hard to find. Seeking wisdom is simple, but learning to be a wise person is not easy. In order for us to truly be wise, we need to ask the owner and creator of wisdom Himself for it- God. We have to humble ourselves before God and ask Him to bless us with a part of His great wisdom that will enable us to understand what is enough for us to know.

Highlights

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Seeking wisdom is very important in our lives especially today. Most of us seek the advice of the immediate people around us or those who we trust the most. However, we miss the most legitimate source of advice that is most available to us, which is God.

The Bible does not contain God's Word - it is God's Word entirely! Because of this, God's Word has been made to be always available to us.

We can read what God has to say to us through this book that was written with the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit to the prophets and other people who were chosen to write what the Holy Spirit had to say.

In the Bible is the wise book of Proverbs. It starts with chapter 1 verse 7 saying, "To have knowledge, you must first have reverence for the LORD."

This shows how important it is for us to be humble first and know that God is still a far much wiser being than us and that His wisdom surpasses what our human mind can understand. Then the book goes on with more wise words regarding righteous attitude, common sense and good manners that God uses to teach us about what would honor Him the most.

This holy season, remember the patron saint who watches over thee! Honor your patron saint with faith.

The book reveals the glory of God. In Proverbs 2:7-8, it says, "7 He provides help and protection for those who are righteous and honest. 8 He protects those who treat others fairly, and guards those who are devoted to Him."

It is like a megaphone that broadcasts the capability of God to rescue the sick, the oppressed, the suffering and the depressed; it showcases God's intention to save them and to bless them with wisdom as well. The book of Proverbs, therefore, is a great way to learn a godly life and to get to know God more.
